Oh what fun... Jaxton is ONE!!!

It's almost hard to believe my sweet little boy is a legitimate toddler now! Where did the past year go?? His birthday was on a Thursday and unfortunately I had to work... but we took him to McDonalds and got him his very first Happy Meal. Kyle has been talking about getting his little boy a Happy Meal since we found out we were pregnant. It was great to witness Kyle become so excited watching Jaxton. Jax wasn't sure he really liked it, at first... but that didn't last long. Before we knew it he had chicken McNuggetts in both hands and was shoving them in his mouth as fast as he could!
We didn't do much for Jaxton's birthday. We had our friends and family over. I had bought a fun cake pan for his cake, a monkey, since we call him our little monkey and I think Jaxton was more interested in the frosting than the actual cake. It turned into a total mess and a lot to clean up, but was so much fun!!
It has been an amazing year with this little guy! We are so happy you joined our family Jaxton! We love you!

Baby Baby Baby

I have lots and lots to catch up on, but we had some baby drama come up. The dr assured us it is nothing to worry about and he will continue to monitor it very closely. We went in for an ultrasound on Feb 28, and they determined that the baby is a GIRL!! That is so exciting for the LaPratt family. 5 grandkids and none were girls... until now. So we go in for my monthly appointment this week and Dr Allen (the same dr who was so incredibly GREAT with Jax) tells us he is ordering another ultrasound because the baby was not measuring correctly. She is measuring too small. Seriously, who would have guessed with how big I am right now (Jaxton's pregnancy was much easier to hide than this one!!) But on a happier note, it's always good to get a second look at a baby girl to determine that she is, in fact, a girl.

ACCEPTED!

When Kyle and I started this process, I would be go bed every night and just pray that someone would see something in me, and accept my application. I couldn't handle letting Kyle down. We sent out 7 applications and before I could get out the other 3 that we had planned on sending, we were accepted to 3 of them!!!! So it's true... the Avance's are moving, but to where... has yet to be decided!

Freezin' For a Reason

Kyle works with individuals with special needs and the company that he works for did a really fun fundraiser... a Polar Plunge! Kyle and I both wanted to participate but in the words of Kyle "it's not good for baby" so Kyle did it on his own. It cost a donation of $25, which was totally worth it! All of the money went to help his guys go to Special Olympics. There were about 140 people who jumped in and the water was 37 degrees... so cold!! Luckily it was a beautiful day (here in Cedar, in January!) What a fun fundraising idea, I am so happy we got to be part of it!How cute is this kid?!!!
With our friend Jessica and Chandler!

Getting ready to watch dad take the plunge!

Kyle getting ready to go in... he said the ground was miserably cold!

BRRRRRR!!!!!

After the plunge! What a fun day! So proud of Kyle for being part of such a great cause!

Catch up!

I hate getting really behind, because playing catch up sucks! So I am just gonna dive right in!

November:
I started my new job in November and I am so happy to be back at work. I don't love being away from Jax or getting up so early in the morning, but it has been really good for me. And for kyle. The extra money is nice as well. Jaxton started walking... a lot in November! I couldn't believe he just went for it like that! He is such a great kid and I love him so much! We celebrated my birthday on the 23rd. Kyle treats me so well and made sure my birthday was so great!! He is such a good husband. Two days after my birthday it was Thanksgiving and of course, Kyle had to work. We did our Thanksgiving the day before, and Jax and I spent the day curled up on the couch with Del Taco.

December:
Nothing too much happened. I took my LSAT in December. It was the worst 8 hours of my life, but I actually did better than I expected to do. I passed out at the dr's office (as previously mentioned) and I spent a few days sick. Other than that... nothing really. Christmas was a lot of fun! We planned on staying here in Cedar but my brother was pretty determined for us to come down since this could be there last Christmas in Vegas. We decided that we wanted to be around family for Christmas and not up here alone, so we woke up on Christmas Eve morning and opened presents. Then we headed down to Vegas to spend it with family. We had dinner at Kyle's parents house then headed to my brothers for games. I love that my family plays games like they do. It is so much fun and we always end up laughing until it hurts! Kyle and I had a fun little gift for my family that we gave them on Christmas eve. We woke up on Christmas morning and my parents made the BEST breakfast I have had in a long time. We had to head back to Cedar on Christmas day but overall, it was so much fun! Jaxton also got his first tooth on Christmas! He is no longer a baby... he is a big boy now! We also headed back down for New Years. That was also filled with games and food. And since I have been instructed by my doctor to put on weight, I let myself indulge! It's ok every once in awhile.

January:
We celebrated Kyle's birthday on the 5th. I was sick shortly before his birthday and it got even worse the day or two after. I am so happy to be with him. We had to go to the dr again for a follow up for my fall and the dr said I am doing really well. I have been on call for work and I realized I work too much!! Kyle and I are still considering law schools and looking at all of our different options. Everything costs so much money. Kyle and I have known since November and we told my family on Christmas as part of our Christmas gift to them but we told Kyle's family this month, so we can put it on here... baby number 2 is on the way! CRAZY! It took a few weeks for me to be excited about being pregnant only because this was NOT planned and Kyle and I have been making our plans recently for the future and this was not in the plans, but we're so excited! Which explains my fall and the reason the dr kept having us come back.

So that's what we have been up to. Busy couple of months, but I am SO happy to be caught up!

New Years Resolutions!

Kyle and I have made 2 New Years Resolutions this year. We are doing them as a couple this year, hopefully we can help each other keep them!
1. Our money situation and our work schedules have changed so we are going to try to spend more time with our families. Don't get me wrong, we are still dirt poor, but we wanna be around for more stuff!
2. Our second resolution makes us laugh. But we are determined to not get pregnant in 2011. Kinda random we know, but it will be our resolution for a few years!

Here's to 2011 being a fantastic year!!!
